How it works

You set your phone up once, and from then on it connects by itself at every Round place. Buy a day, a week or a month when you need it.

What is Round?

Round is WiFi you carry with you. You set your phone up once, and it connects at every place on the Round network without a portal or a password. A plan covers a day, a week or a month at all of them.

What does a plan give me?

A plan is a day, a week or a month of WiFi at every Round place. It starts the first time you connect and ends when the time is up. There is a fair-use total for each plan (3 GB on a Day, 21 GB on a Week, 90 GB on a Month) that is more than a phone gets through, and it is never a daily limit, so you never think about data. Bigger plans are also faster: up to 5 Mbps on a Day, 10 on a Week and 20 on a Month.

How do I pay?

In the app, from any bitcoin or USDT wallet. Choose a plan and the app shows a Lightning invoice or a USDT address with the exact amount. Pay it, and the plan is on the moment the payment confirms: seconds for Lightning, a few minutes for USDT. Prices are shown before you pay, and there is a small free allowance when you start, so you can try it before you buy.

Can I pay by card or bank transfer?

Not yet. Bitcoin over Lightning and USDT are the two ways to pay today, for every plan, including naira plans in Nigeria. The app converts the price at the live rate and shows you the exact sats or USDT to send. USDT deposits have a one-dollar minimum, so a small plan is rounded up to 1 USDT and the difference stays on your account as credit for the next one.

Which currencies can I pay in?

Your account has one currency. Local plans are priced in your local currency where Round supports one; right now that is naira, in Nigeria. Global plans are priced in US dollars and work anywhere Round is. Either way you pay in bitcoin or USDT, and the app shows the amount in the currency of the plan and in what you are sending.

What does “set this phone up once” mean?

The app installs a network profile on your phone. That profile is your identity on every Round network: it is how your phone proves it is yours without typing anything. You do it once per phone.

Do I need to open the app to connect?

No. Once the phone is set up it joins Round WiFi the way it joins a mobile network: on its own, as soon as it is in range. The app is for buying plans, seeing what is left on yours, and finding Round places near you.

Is it secure?

Every Round network is WPA2 or WPA3 Enterprise. Traffic between your phone and the access point is always encrypted, and your phone checks that the network is really Round before it connects.

What can the place I am connected at see?

That a Round phone connected, when, and how much data it used. Not your name, number, or what you did online. See the privacy policy.

Can I use one plan on two phones?

A plan belongs to your account, and your account can have more than one phone set up. They share the plan; how many can be online at once depends on the plan.

Can I send a plan to someone?

Yes. You can buy a day, a week or a month for another Round user from the app. Once they accept it, it is theirs.

I run a place. What do I get?

Customers, and customers who come back. Every Round member near you sees your place in the app. When one walks in for the first time, their phone welcomes them, and your place stays in their list afterwards. Their phones join your WiFi without a portal or a password, so nobody asks your staff for it. If you already have WiFi, you keep your connection and your router; Round handles identity, access and payment. If you do not, we install a Round Puck: solid access points and routers, from $59, set up by us. Cafés, hubs, hotels, campuses and offices are all a fit. See Round for places, or write to us to get started.

What if there is no Round where I am?

Ask for it. Suggest a place from the app, or write to us, and we will talk to the owner.
